Location: Several sites across the South West Region

The Talem Recruitment Group is working in partnership with St Austell Brewery to identify and attract Assistant and Senior Assistant Manager candidates for their managed houses across the South West and we will be holding Assessment Centre recruitment days.

The Roles

Assistant Manager

As an Assistant Manager for one of our managed pubs, you will work closely with the General Manager to help achieve success and growth, ensuring that customers enjoy the highest standards of service, during every visit, within a welcoming and hospitable environment.

With a role that includes taking responsibility for day to day running of the pub in  the manager’s absence, you will be self-disciplined, confident, able to prioritise and self-assured, facing challenges that can be as rewarding as they are varied, and sometimes pressured.

This role will suit candidates from throughout the service sector who are looking to develop their career and who:

*have a totally customer centred focus

*are used to dealing directly with the public, liaising with suppliers and managing teams

*have the ability to employ excellent leadership skills, inspiring teams from within through demonstrating the highest personal standards and work ethic

*wish to develop their own skills and knowledge, happy to commit to taking part in training and learning schemes

*have great commercial acumen and experience with cash handling procedures.

What we are looking for:

You’ll need to be a customer-focused, flexible team player who is as comfortable resolving customer’s concerns, as you are mentoring and getting alongside colleagues. With the ability to resolve issues proactively, you will be self-motivated and disciplined, employing excellent leadership traits and will be able to work within the team, taking the lead or lending a hand as required.

You stand a great chance if:

*you have previous experience as an assistant manager in the service sector

*you have proven ability to engage, manage and support a team or have been a senior team member

*you understand the importance of company standards and you constantly consider these in the way you work

*you take pride in your work and work hard to achieve results, while being mindful of regulations, law and procedures

Senior Assistant Manager

As a Senior Assistant Manager for one of our managed pubs, you will work closely with the General Manager to help achieve success and growth, ensuring that customers enjoy the highest standards of service, within a welcoming and hospitable environment.  A bubbly, friendly and calm force within the establishment, you will motivate and coach the team, setting a great example through your own drive, dedication, self-discipline and attention to detail. In addition, you will have demonstrable experience as an Assistant Manager within a pub or eatery and will be looking to progress your career by gaining your own personal licence and becoming a General Manager at your own site in the future.

In addition to the requirements for the Assistant Manager above, you will:

*be able to move between sites as required

* offer assistance and support to other sites

To be successful as Senior Assistant Manager you will:

*have demonstrable and successful experience in an Assistant Manager’s position within a pub or eatery

*have the energy and drive to pursue progression while demonstrating the qualities at the core of the St Austell Brewery Business

*be committed to developing your own knowledge and ability

*have the flexibility to work in the whole of the St Austell Brewery Business, moving between locations as required
